Photo of poster of M. Chavez"You have probably all heard it before; don't let anything stop you from pursuing your dreams." As you pursue a careen in engineering, you will find many reasons/excuses to postpone your studies, change to a less demanding major, or quit college altogether. When these times come, and they will, remember that true rewards don't come freely or easily. Expecting success without hard work is like trying to harvest where you haven't planted.

Surround yourself with people pursuing similar goals and who are passionate about attaining those goals. Support each other, stay focused and stay motivated. Shy away from people taking the easy way out. The easy way out is never that easy. Eventually, all it does is provide a way out of ever realizing your dreams. A career in engineering can be fun, challenging, and can provide you with a sound financial base.

Don't lose sight of your dream and pursue it with a passion. Hard work and perseverance will pay off in the end."
